Hello again all. Since I posted last, plenty has happened. Joe Mercado made his trip and Operation Catch Fish went extremely well. This link tells about it http://www.blackanthem.com. I am waiting for Brian to send pictures. One thing Joe did is to give the school a batch of spinning rods. Brian asked around and found that lots of folks had heard of this site and the school, but they did not pursue it any further than the web because they didn't fly fish - so we are branching out. You can see I've changed the logo - we want to make sure that this organization exists to get folks in uniform a break from there duties and get on the water. I will pull together a list of items needed/requested and post them here so those who want to contribute can. More to follow.
As for those of you in uniform - this site is for you! If you've got a fishing story or picture you want to share - send it in, I'll get it posted. If you've got a tip - same goes for that. I'd love to give folks a chance to share their experiences like I did when I was there. Send you story, pictures or tip along with your rank/name/unit (if desired) and details you can share. Keep OPSEC in mind and don't worry about specific locations - general local will do.
The school made the March issue of Field and Stream. Check out the picture layout and the great articles about folks fishing in Iraq. That is it for this update, check in again and see how the expansion project comes along.
Fish on! Joel
